First collected from the foothills of Panama's central mountain range, this is the only species currently offered that has been found exclusively in trees! As this is likely an undescribed species, we aren't quite sure what to call it, although it does look like isopods in the genus Cubaris. Grows about the same size as rubber duckies and other members of this genus. These isopods appear to be a big fan of the leaf litter that collects in the forks of tree branches, although they can be kept like most other isopods species with a 1/2 damp, 1/2 dry setup and plenty of wood. These little buggers are great breeders, too, but be careful--some have been reported to climb the insides of plastic containers. A thin layer of Vaseline or silicone oil should keep them where they need to be.
